A Bangladeshi youth, named Al-Amin (36), was shot dead by the Border Security Force (BSF) of India at the border near the Swidanga area in the interior of Panchagarh district's Sadar upazila. The incident occurred in the Indian Khalpara area, directly across from the Swidanga area in Bangladesh.

Al-Amin, a resident of the Jinnatpara village in the Haribhasha union of Sadar upazila, was the son of Suruj Ali.

According to local sources, Al-Amin had been missing for the past three days. On the early morning of Friday, March 7, a group of 10-15 people, including Al-Amin, was spotted by the BSF patrol team near the Bhatpara BSF camp in India. Upon noticing them, the BSF opened fire on the group.

While others managed to escape, Al-Amin was shot and killed. The BSF then took his body to India. Upon receiving the news, the commanding officer of the Nilphamari 56 BGB Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Sheikh Md. Badruddoza, held a flag meeting with the commander of the 46 BSF Battalion at the border pillar 744/7-S area. During the meeting, a strong protest was made, and a demand was made for the return of the body.
